Why I built this.

"

On YouTube, getting to speed controls takes two or three clicks โ€” open the player menu, find settings, find speed. Most sites give you a handful of fixed presets: 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0. That's it. No in-between.

But sometimes 1.5ร— was too slow and 2.0ร— was too fast โ€” and 1.6ร— would've been perfect. There was no way to get there. You'd just pick the lesser-of-two-evils and deal with it.

The real trigger was long-form technical content. There are hours and hours of genuinely great tutorials out there โ€” coding walkthroughs, AI deep-dives, system design lectures. The approach that works best is to skim through at a faster pace first, absorb the concepts, get the shape of the thing โ€” then go back and slow down for the parts that actually matter to you.

That workflow needs precise speed control. Not presets. Not a clunky menu. Just a slider, right there, that does exactly what you tell it. So I built it.
